Advisors - Industry
All Industry advisors will be subject to background checks relevant to their intended position within the FTL. These will usually be conducted directly by the College/ University. FTL is under no obligation to honour Associate positions in the event of an unfavourable outcome. It is the duty of an Associate to report any potential reasons why they may not be suitable to work in an educational environment during their term as an Associate.
Please advise whenever possible if your relationship to FTL will be used in a public setting.
We strive to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between associates of the FTL and projects/ students accessing the time and resources of our advisory network. You should not be expected to financially remunerate students working on your projects (this is at the discretion of the advisor and should always adhere to the rules of the local institution).
Advisors/ Associates will be reviewed on a term by term basis.
Should you wish to arrange a talk, meeting or event at any partner institution please reach out to a member of the FTL operational team, ecosystem development or relevant lab leads.
Should you wish to recommend a research project, partnership or enlist technical support (development or writing a manuscript for publication) please reach out to the FTL Director or relevant lab leads.
