The Cognitive Systems Engineering (CSE) group at the Frontier Technologies Laboratory focuses on the design and development of intelligent systems that can perceive, learn, remember, and adapt over time. Bridging advances in artificial intelligence with insights from neuroscience and the life sciences, the group explores how memory, identity, and context can be embedded as core primitives within computational systems. Its work spans cognitive architectures, biomimetic memory models, and multi-agent coordination, with the aim of enabling persistent, context-aware AI systems capable of operating robustly in real-world environments.
